Here is the truth about fully funded scholarships that nobody tells you: most students don't lose them on merit. They lose them on timing. They hear about the perfect scholarship three days after it closes, or they start gathering documents when the portal has a week left to live. The 2027 season is especially front-loaded — the great majority of fully funded deadlines for the 2027 intake fall between late October 2026 and February 2027, and several of the world's best awards close within days of each other. Fully funded programmes at Oxford and Cambridge, in Tokyo, Singapore, Honolulu and Hong Kong, all sit inside this single season's window — and year after year, the students who win them are not always the ones with the most perfect transcripts, but the ones who started first and finished on time. If you are reading this in application season, you are not "early." You are right on time, but only just.
That's why this page is organised differently. Instead of grouping scholarships by country or prestige, we've put every live, fully funded scholarship, fellowship and internship on Dare To Dream into one deadline-ordered table — soonest first — covering master's degrees, PhDs, research fellowships and even a fully funded internship for students still at university. Every entry is verified by our team against the official programme details, and each row links to the full D2D post with eligibility, benefits and application steps. On this page, "fully funded" means the award itself covers the core costs of studying — tuition plus a living stipend, and in most cases travel and insurance too — not a small discount dressed up as a scholarship.
Use it like a big brother would tell you to: start at the top, check which of the soonest deadlines you actually qualify for, and apply in waves — one or two applications at a time, each done properly. Keep this page bookmarked, because we update the underlying database daily. Your dream university is one deadline away, dreamer — but only if you meet it.

Just missed — prepare for the next cycle: two famous fully funded awards closed shortly before this page was verified. Chevening Scholarships (UK) closed on October 6, 2026, and the DAAD EPOS scholarships for Freiburg and Charité Berlin closed on October 15, 2026. Both run annually — if they're your dream, start building your file now and you'll be ready the week the next round opens.
How to apply — your 2027 game plan
- Work from the top of the table. Sort your effort by deadline, not by fame. A submitted application to a "less famous" scholarship beats a half-finished application to a famous one.
- Check eligibility before anything else. Nationality, age limits, work experience and degree level rule people out silently. Every D2D post has an eligibility section copied from the official details — read it first. (Example: the Swedish Institute award above is excellent, but only Bangladeshi students among our South Asian readers can apply.)
- Build one master document file. Passport, transcripts, certificates, CV, English scores and reference letters are reused across almost every application. Our guide on preparing scholarship documents shows you how.
- Apply on the official portal, from the D2D post link. Fully funded government scholarships never ask you to pay an agent to "release" your award. If someone does, walk away.
- Mind the time zones. Deadlines above fall in JST, HKT, Hawaii time, CET and others. Convert yours, then submit a week early anyway.
- Track everything in one place. Save your shortlist in the D2D opportunities database so new deadlines don't ambush you.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as "fully funded" on this page?
We've only listed awards whose D2D post confirms they cover the core costs: full tuition plus a living stipend, and in most cases travel and insurance as well. Where a detail differs — for instance, the NPU CSC scholarship generally doesn't cover international airfare, and the Swiss Government Excellence deadline is set per country — the table says so honestly rather than hiding it.
Which deadlines should I prioritise right now?
The ones in the next two weeks of the table: the Fulbright Scholar Program for Pakistani academics (Oct 28), MEXT at the University of Tokyo (Oct 30), Melbourne and the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships (Oct 31), and the Max Planck internship (Nov 1). Then December 1 is the season's biggest single day — four major awards (Eric Bleumink, SINGA, ADB-JSP Hawaiʻi and the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship) all close on it, so anything you want from that group needs preparing in November.
Can I apply for several fully funded scholarships in the same season?
Yes — most students who win a fully funded award applied to several programmes. Just respect the exceptions: the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship permits only one application (duplicates are disqualified), and awards like ADB-JSP require a separate university admission application alongside the scholarship one.
I'm from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh or Nepal. Are all of these open to me?
Most are open to international students worldwide, and a few are especially welcoming: the Eric Bleumink Fellowship explicitly lists Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Nepal as eligible, the Fulbright Scholar Program row is Pakistan-only, and the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships explicitly include Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. The one clear exception in the table is the Swedish Institute Scholarship, which is open to Bangladesh but not to Pakistan, India or Nepal. Always confirm the final country list on the official page linked from each post.
I missed a 2027 deadline. Is my dream over?
Not even close. Almost every award in this table runs every year on a similar calendar — Chevening and DAAD EPOS simply closed early this cycle. Note the month each of your target scholarships opens, prepare your documents and essays in the quiet months, and apply at the start of the next window instead of the end. The students who win are usually the ones who were ready before the portal opened.
