OVERVIEWImportant update (Aug 2026): MEXT has warned there is a high possibility that recruitment for the University Recommendation route for AY2027 may be suspended — not yet decided. APU still accepts applications but may not be able to nominate candidates, and the application fee is non-refundable.

The MEXT University Recommendation Scholarship 2027 supports graduate study at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Beppu, Oita, Japan, with September 2027 enrollment only.
