The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is one of the world's most prestigious fully-funded postgraduate scholarships, offered by the Gates Cambridge Trust for study at the University of Cambridge. Around 70 full-cost scholarships are awarded each year (about two-thirds to PhD students) to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK pursuing eligible full-time postgraduate degrees: PhD, MLitt, and one-year postgraduate courses.
To apply, submit the University of Cambridge course application and complete the Gates Cambridge section by your course's funding deadline. The international round deadline is 6 January 2027 (course-dependent — some courses close 8 December 2026). The US round closed 14 October 2026.
