UTSIP Kashiwa 2027 - University of Tokyo Summer Internship Program
Spend summer 2027 doing funded research at the University of Tokyo's Kashiwa campus: a JPY 130,000 UTSIP scholarship, accommodation provided, and hands-on lab experience in the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences.
UTSIP Kashiwa is the University of Tokyo's summer research internship program at its Kashiwa campus, run by the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS). Selected undergraduate students spend approximately 7 weeks in summer 2027 doing hands-on research in GSFS laboratories across materials science, biosciences, environmental studies, IT and sustainability, attending lectures by world-leading researchers and joining Japanese culture events.

- Summer 2027: the program runs for approximately 7 weeks. The 2026 program ran May 25 – July 10.
- UTSIP scholarship of JPY 130,000.
- Accommodation provided.
- Health insurance provided.
Note: a participation fee of JPY 70,000 applies and is non-refundable.
- Undergraduate students enrolled at an overseas (non-Japanese) college or university throughout the program.
- Must not have completed their bachelor's degree.
- Considering graduate study in Japan.
