JET Programme – Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Japan
The JET Programme recruits Indian citizens as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) for one-year, renewable contracts in Japanese public schools. First-year salary approx. ¥4.02 million with airfare to Japan provided. Apply by 30 October 2026 via the Embassy of Japan in India.
The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme, administered by the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR), invites applications from Indian citizens for the position of Assistant Language Teacher (ALT). This intake is coordinated by the Embassy of Japan in India.
ALTs assist Japanese teachers of English in public schools, support school activities, and serve as cultural ambassadors in their local communities. Contracts run for one year and are renewable.

- Bachelor's degree in any field, or expected graduation by July 2027.
