Fellowships at Temple University 2026 (Fully Funded)

Temple University offers competitive fellowships for newly admitted graduate students (doctoral & MFA) that provide tuition support and a living stipend. These fellowships are awarded by the Graduate School and are aimed at outstanding incoming candidates both domestic and international selected by their departments.

Who can apply

  • Newly admitted Doctoral (PhD) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) students.
  • Both domestic and international applicants are eligible; departments nominate strong candidates for fellowship consideration.

Requirements (Eligibility)

  • Exceptional academic record (strong transcripts, research potential).
  • Applicants may need to be willing/able to serve as a research or teaching assistant for up to 20 hours/week in years when department support requires service. (Note: when support is provided by the Graduate School there may be no service requirement during that period.)
  • Submit full admission application to your program (you should apply for admission and request consideration for fellowship nomination by the department).

What the fellowship offers

  • Tuition fee coverage (tuition remission).
  • Stipend (living support) during the fellowship term.
  • Typical doctoral fellowship support from the Graduate School is a minimum of four years for PhD students (shorter terms for MFA programs).
