Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be non-Chinese citizens in good health with no criminal record.
- Master’s applicants: Hold a bachelor’s degree and be aged 18–35.
- Doctoral applicants: Hold a master’s degree and be aged 18–40.
- Language Requirements:
- For Chinese-taught programs:
- Science/Engineering: HSK4 ≥ 260
- Arts/Social Sciences/Medicine: HSK5 ≥ 200
- For English-taught programs:
- IELTS ≥ 6.0 or TOEFL ≥ 85
- Exemptions: Native speakers or applicants who completed their previous degree in Chinese or English.
- For Chinese-taught programs:
- Strong academic background and research potential.
- Some programs may have additional criteria (refer to program catalogue).

Application Process
Step 1: Online Application
- Register at CSU International Student System
- Complete the application form and upload required documents
Step 2: Initial Review & Application Fee
- If approved in initial review, pay the application fee of CNY 500
- Payment options include WeChat, Alipay, or UnionPay
Step 3: Academic Review
- Schools review academic background and research potential
Step 4: Admission Decision
- Final admission results will be sent via email and posted in your application account
- Final scholarship type and funding are determined in the admission notice
Scholarship Renewal
All scholarship recipients must undergo an annual performance review. The continuation of funding depends on satisfactory academic and personal performance.
Notes
- Application materials will not be returned, and the application fee is non-refundable.
- Medical insurance is mandatory for all international students. Uninsured students cannot register.
- Students born abroad to Chinese citizens must meet specific nationality and residency criteria.
